3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup milk
1 cup chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F), grease a 9-inch round cake pan with butter and sprinkle with flour.
In a large bowl, beat the soft butter with the sugar until the mixture is fluffy and light.

In another bowl, sift the flour with the cocoa, baking powder and salt.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the liquid mixture, and alternate with the milk, and stir until everything is well mixed.
Gently stir the cherries and chocolate chips into the mixture, and be careful not to stir too much so that the cake remains fluffy.
Pour the mixture into the pan and prepare the surface with a spoon.
Put the pan in the oven for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Leave the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a cooling rack until it cools completely.
